Studio Rhode - My Woonsocket Life - Cherie & Greg S.

This video was captured on September 8, 2017 on Friday Food Night at River Island Art Park. Cherie & Greg S. responded to the following three questions:

1) Tell us your favorite memory of your life in Woonsocket?
2) What do you like about living in Woonsocket or what do you find challenging?
3) What would you do today to change Woonsocket?

In May of 2017, the Woonsocket Harris Public Library won a state-wide contest sponsored by the Rhode Island Office of Innovation, and the Rhode Island State Library office of Information Services to come up with a way to come up with a creative way for public libraries to engage residents with technology and training in the digital age.

The winning idea was to collect 200 video interviews from city residents to help the City of Woonsocket create its comprehensive plan for future planning and economic development. The Woonsocket Harris Public Library also received 40 iPads, funding to convert a study room into a sound-proof creation studio, and $40,000 from the Carnegie Corporation.

For more information, or if you are interested in participating in the "My Woonsocket Life" oral history project, you can contact Woonsocket Library Director Leslie Page at (401) 769-9044 and Assistant Library Director Margaret McNulty at (401) 767-4126.
